Q: My department wants to adopt a family for the holidays. Who do I need to contact?

A: Contact Stephanie A. Jones(407-303-7711 opt. 1) or please complete the Department Request Form.

Q: By what date do I need to make contact?
A: No later than the last week of October (refer to Adopt-A-Family Guidelines or contact Stephanie A. Jones)

Q: How will our department choose a family to adopt?

A: There are two ways to decide.

1. Your department can choose an employee or patient who is a candidate for Adopt-A-Family (remember to notify Stephanie A. Jones or fill out the Department Request Form with the family information to avoid any duplicates).
2. You can contact Stephanie A. Jones and ask her to refer a family that has already filled out an application.

Q: Does our department need to provide all of the gift items our Adopt-A-Family requests?

A: This depends on what your department can afford. Adopted families are not guaranteed to receive all gift items they request. Generally, necessities and gifts for children are considered a priority and then other items are purchased/donated if resources allow.

Q: How does our department contact the family and deliver the gifts?

A: This responsibility is coordinated by your department's Adopt-A-Family representative. She/he will call the adopted family, introduce her/him and the department, and find out their needs, wish list, living conditions, # of family members, etc. Also, she/he will schedule a time to deliver the gifts. Sometimes a few representatives from the department deliver the gifts. Other times the whole department decides to go. Just keep in mind the family might not feel comfortable having too many people over. So, before the department makes any decisions, consult the family to see what they prefer.
